Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in skincare & hope you enjoy my journey to better and healthier skin.

Microneedle Patches for Acne & Dark Spots

Microneedle Patches for Acne & Dark Spots

I’ve gone over hydrocolloid pimple patches in a previous blog post and now there’s the next generation: microneedle/microdart patches. The teeny “needles” are made of skin beneficial ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil & Madecassoside to help with inflammation and speed up the healing process.

Peace Out Skincare has patches that help with lightening the dark spots that pimples may leave behind.

By the way, the needles are meant to dissolve into the skin & do not hurt! At most there’s a slight prickling sensation.

For acne care, I’ve tried the Acropass and Care Bare Beauty microneedle patches & there are many more in the market. I shared on my IG TV how the Acropass & Care Bare patches worked for me. Keep scrolling to see how I liked the Peace Out Dark Spots!

What do they do? The Acropass patches have 2 parts, a cleansing swab and the microneedle patch while Care Bare Beauty are just microneedle patches. The microneedles do not hurt & just have a very slight prickling sensation. I only use these microneedle patches on cysts or any pimples that haven’t come to a head (aka I can’t pop them and put a regular hydrocolloid pimple patch on them!)

Results: In the occasions where I’ve used the microneedle patches, I’ve applied them at night and slept with them on. In the morning, the pimples are dramatically smaller or completely gone. For pimples that haven’t come to a head, these patches do a good job at either drawing them out so I can pop them or making them disappear completely.

Price & where to buy: You can buy Acropass from Soko Glam, $18 for 6 swabs & 6 patches.

I do not recommend buying them from Acropass-shop.com, their customer service was non-existent and it took weeks for my order to arrive and they sent expired products. They ended up issuing a refund, but it was not worth the hassle.

Care Bare Beauty, $12 for 10 patches.

Other microneedle patches I’m interested in but haven’t tried:

A'PIEU Madecassoside Needle Spot Patch, $8-10 for 10 patches - Missha, Amazon*, Jolse*, Masksheets

Rael Microneedle Technology Acne Healing Patch, $12 for 9 patches - Rael, Amazon*

KARATICA I'M CURE, $12 for 6 microneedle patches & 6 hydrocolloid patches - Amazon*

ZitSticka Killa Kit, $29 for 8 swabs & 8 patches (ingredients look similar to Acropass) - ZitSticka

Peace Out Skincare Microneedling Dark Spot Brightening Dots

What do they do? Ever have a pimple heal and the dark spot remains as a terrible reminder for months and months? Yeah, me too! The Peace Out Dark Spots contain Niacinamide, Arbutin, Licorice Root Extract, and Tranexamic Acid that all help to lighten dark spots.

Results: I followed Peace Out’s instructions closely and used 2 patches per week for 2 consecutive weeks on 1 dark spot on my chin. Check out my before and after picture above! I was honestly shocked and amazed at how well it broke down the dark spot.

I’m a religious Vitamin C serum user and it would have still taken weeks to months for the dark spot to truly fade away.

Price & where to buy: $28 for 12 dots from Peace Out and Sephora. Considering it would take 4 patches to lighten 1 dark spot, it would cost $9+ to get rid of it. So it’s pricey but worth it if you need to get rid of a dark spot quickly!
